LONG BEACH, Calif. - A loose ball that fell through the keeper's hands found junior Brooke Ramsier at the right place and the right time Sunday afternoon as she finished from 10 yards out to give the Auburn women's soccer team the 1-0 victory over Long Beach State in double overtime.

The Tigers and 49ers battled to a scoreless draw through 100 minutes, with neither team able to connect on multiple opportunities. Barely one minute in to the second overtime, Auburn's Casie Ramsier found a chance to cross deep in the attacking zone.

As her kick came into the box, Long Beach State's keeper, Ashton McKeown, came out to try and make the grab, but the ball slipped through her hands right at the feet of Brooke Ramsier. Ramsier connected the one-timer with the left foot and found the top right netting for the win.

The win starts Auburn's 2015 season with a 2-0-0 record for the first time since 2012 and is its third win in the state of California in program history.

Long Beach State, one of the better defensive teams in the country, won the shot battle, 19-12, but with the limited looks at goal, Auburn made the most of each opportunity nearly putting in the go-ahead goal at the end of each period.

Redshirt freshman Sarah Le Beau locked up her second shutout of the season, making eight saves in the match. The Illinois-native made plenty of diving saves in the contest, but she also did a great job of coming out and timing her jumps perfectly to prevent limited shot attempts from the opposition.

Turning Point

Brooke Ramsier hit the game winner in the 102nd minute after a cross from sister Casie Ramsier slipped through the hands of Long Beach State's keeper, Ashton McKeown. Brooke Ramsier, who had four shots in the match, two coming on target, finished with the left foot for her first goal of the 2015 season and third game-winner of her career.
