Scott Lazeroff scored a 354.90 to finish in fifth place on the 3-meter while teammate Justin Youtsey placed 10th at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Thursday in Atlanta.
Lazeroff, who's previous best on the 3-meter was a 308.55 during the Alabama dual meet, moved onto the finals after posting a 350.10 during Thursday's prelims session.
Youtsey scored a 314.15 in the finals after scoring a season-best 324.50 during the prelims. Pete Turnham finished 14th with a score of 321.90.
"Scott did a great job and was our most consistent diver on Thursday," head coach Jeff Shaffer said. "Justin also had a solid performance and did some really good dives. On the women's side Maddie (Cox) just missed one dive and that cost her a spot in the finals. We were not as sharp as we want to be but today was a good learning experience. Hopefully we can correct our mistakes and step up tomorrow."
On the women's 3-meter, Cox was Auburn's top finisher, placing 15th with a score of 256.45, followed closely by Morgan Mullins in 18th with a score of 248.20. Carly Scheper finished 25th (229.30) and Miranda Telmanik was 45th (186.45).
The invitational continues on Friday with the women's 3-meter and men's 1-meter. Prelims begin at 9 a.m. CT and the finals at 5 p.m.
