Auburn had three divers grab top-10 finishes as action continued at the Georgia Tech Invite on Friday in Atlanta. Carly Scheper finished eighth on the women's 3-meter and Justin Youtsey and Pete Turnham placed ninth and tenth, respectively, on the 1-meter.

"We had a better day today," Auburn head diving coach Jeff Shaffer said. "Carly was consistent in the prelims and then improved her score in the finals."

Scheper scored a 302.10 in the women's 3-meter final to move up one spot after posting a 284.90 in the prelims.

On the men's 1-meter, Youtsey scored a 314.55 in the final and Turnham a 289.20. Youtsey had entered the finals in third with a 323.10 prelims score while Turnham was in ninth after a 301.05.

"Both Justin and Pete had some great dives in the finals," Shaffer said. "The experience is something we can build and improve upon."

Maddie Cox finished two spots out of the finals with a 270.95 while Morgan Mullins was two spots behind her in 14th with a 264.75 during the 3-meter prelims. Miranda Telmanik finished 48th (187.45).

"Maddie was again just one dive off of making the finals," Shaffer said.
