Maddie Cox, Michael Duderstadt and Justin Youtsey each won a pair of individual events as the Auburn swimming and diving teams won a total of 14 events in its double dual meet with Florida State and Wisconsin. Auburn's men, ranked No. 7 nationally, toppled Wisconsin, 187-133, and Florida State, 223-76, while the No. 11 women downed Florida State, 234-65, but fell to No. 17 Wisconsin, 158-141.

"Both the men and women showed up today to race and compete," Auburn head coach Brett Hawke said. "The men are gaining confidence each meet they go into. Beating Florida last week really gave them a boost and you can tell they have really gone to another level and that's a good thing going into SECs."

Youtsey, who was one of 11 seniors recognized before the meet, and Cox, led an Auburn sweep of the diving events. Youtsey scored a 399.95 on the 3-meter and a 368.05 on the 1-meter, a personal-best, while Cox scored a 283.35 on the 1-meter and a personal-best 313.65 on the 3-meter.

"Today was a really strong day for us, led by a sweep of the (men's) 3-meter," Auburn diving coach Jeff Shaffer said. "On the women's side they did a much better job. Any time you are over 300 points on the women's 3-meter is a step in the right direction."

Duderstadt, who is the reigning SEC Swimmer of the Week, again won the 100 breast (53.39) -- the fifth time he has done so this year -- and also touched first in the 100 freestyle (43.89) and swam the breaststroke leg of the winning 200 medley relay (1:26.13).

Auburn made it a complete sweep of the breaststroke events as Natasha Lloyd and Annie Lazor combined to finish 1-2 in both women's races. Lloyd won the 100 in 1:01.01, just ahead of Lazor in second (1:01.56), and then the duo flipped in the 200 with Lazor winning in 2:11.86 and Lloyd touching second in 2:12.08.

"Annie and Tash are training partners and ever since Georgia they have been so in sync and swimming lights out," Auburn associate head coach for women Lauren Hancock said. "The way the breaststroke is timed in the event is perfect for them."

As a combined team, Auburn swam 18 races where it earned at least two of the top three finishes -- nine from each team -- and had eight races where it finished 1-2.

Hugo Morris and Joe Patching were a part of that domination on the men's side. Morris won the 200 fly (1:45.57) as Patching touched second (1:46.22). Patching then won the 200 back (1:44.47), his 10th individual win of the season.

"We are trying to mix up the lineups, give people different looks, and ultimately find our SEC team," Hawke said.

Zoe Thatcher also stood out on the women's side, swimming the 500 free and finishing second (4:52.52) and 400 IM and placing third (4:20.34).

"We had some girls step up and swim in events they weren't initially scheduled to swim," Hancock said. "Zoe swam the 200 free and the 400 IM and we threw her into the 500 freestyle and she had one of her better times this season.

"We really stayed true to what we set-up to do way back at the beginning of September," Hancock said. "Because we stayed true we are swimming a little more tired than I think Auburn has in the past in January. But now it's up to us to remind them that this absolutely works. The fun really begins in the next few days."

The SEC Swimming and Diving Championships will be the next competition for Auburn. They will be held Feb. 15-20 at Missouri.
