AUBURN, Ala. - Jordan Ebert had a career-high five hits with three RBI and three doubles as Auburn baseball demolished Southern University 18-5 on Friday at Plainsman Park.

"Ebert, not only is he getting hits, but now some extra base hits the last two ballgames," Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said. "Anfernee [Grier] was great again. I was tickled being able to get Keaton Weisz the freshman and Jonathan Foster into the ballgame."

Ebert is the first Auburn player with five hits in a game since 2012 and first Auburn player with three doubles in a games since Blake Austin in 2013.

Grier hit his second home run of the season as he finished with three hits, three RBI and three stolen bases.

Auburn (3-2) has homered in five consecutive games for the first time since 2011.

The Tigers scored a season-best seven runs in the second as they broke open the game and never looked back.

The Tigers added two in the third, one in the fifth, four in the sixth and two in the seventh.

Izaac Yarbrough (1-0) got the win with two innings pitched and two strikeouts. Six Auburn pitchers combined in the victory.

Blake Logan reached base five times and scored four runs.

J'Markus George (0-2) took the loss with 10 runs allowed. Troy Lewis led the Jaguars with three hits. Dondrayas Harris homered.

The Tigers finished with four stolen bases to increase their SEC-best total to 17.

Auburn and Southern play game two of the series on Saturday at 2 p.m.
