ATHENS, Ga. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Freshmen Mai Dechathipat and Melanie Talbott led a group of three Auburn individuals that competed Saturday in the 36-hole Lady Bulldog Individual Tournament.
Dechathipat, a freshman from Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., tied for 15th place in the 42-player field with a 36-hole total of 78-81-159 (+15). Talbott equaled Dechathipat's 36-hole total as the Woodstock, Ga., native carded rounds of 79 and 80.
Auburn's third competing freshman, Maria Donado Paez, tied for 30th with a score of 85-83=168 (+24).
The full team kicks off its spring season next weekend at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic. The event runs next Sunday-Tuesday, Feb. 14-16, at the River Course at Rio Mar in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
