AUBURN, Ala. -- No. 11 Auburn women's tennis (15-3, 3-1) dropped it's first SEC match of the season with a 4-1 loss at No. 3 Georgia (10-1, 4-0).
Pleun Burgmans and Alizee Michaud got things started for the Tigers with a 6-2 win over No. 28 Ellen Perez and Mariana Gould of Georgia. With that doubles victory, Burgmans now has 98 career doubles victories.
Auburn dropped the doubles point after falling in tough battles on courts two and three.
Michaud improved to 12-0 (3-0) in the dual-match season with a 6-3, 6-3 over Georgia's No. 22 Caroine Brinson.
Burgmans dropped her first dual-match of the season with a 6-4, 6-3 loss to No. 78 Kennedy Shaffer.
Auburn women's tennis will return to action on Friday when the Tigers travel to face off against No. 60 Missouri. Auburn will travel to Fayetteville, Ark. on Sunday for a match against No. 33 Arkansas.
