Tigers fail to advance any swims to nighttime finals on Thursday

ATLANTA - The Auburn women's swimming team did not advance anyone to the nighttime finals session at the NCAA Championships at the McAuley Aquatic Center on Thursday morning.

Auburn is the second alternate for the 200 freestyle relay after Aly Tetzloff, Allyx Purcell, Ashton Ellzey and Shannon McKernan swam a 1:29.78. Purcell swam the fastest leg at 22.12.

Auburn's best individual finish during the morning came from Ellzey, who tied for 29th in the 50 free in 22.45.

The swimming action continues on Friday with prelims of the 400 IM, the 100 butterfly, the 200 free, the 100 breaststroke, the 100 backstroke and the 200 medley relay.
