FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Auburn right-hander Justin Camp allowed just two runs in 5.1 innings pitched, Auburn baseball fell 3-2 to No. 18 Arkansas on Friday at Baum Stadium.
"I thought [Camp] pitched with his fastball so much better than last week. He competed," Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said. "He really drove the ball in the strike zone and pitched out of a couple of big jams. He did it with his fastball. I thought he was competitive and gave us a chance until he was close to the century mark in the sixth inning. That was a very quality bounce-back start for him."
Arkansas' Jake Alredge scored on a Luke Bonfield single in the bottom of the ninth to give the Razorbacks (16-6, 1-3) the walk-off victory.
Camp allowed six hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
The Tigers (11-11, 1-3) got on the board first with a Blake Logan RBI double in the third. Daniel Robert added a RBI single as Auburn took a 2-0 lead.
Arkansas tied the game in the sixth on back-to-back hits by Cullen Gassaway and Rick Nomura.
The Tigers chased Arkansas starter Dominic Taccolini in the third inning. He allowed two runs in 2.0 innings.
Josh Alberius (2.2 IP, 0 H, 5 K) got the win to improve to 2-0.
Jordan Ebert, Niko Buentello and Blake Logan all had two hits. Anfernee Grier walked and has reached base in every game this season.
Auburn left 14 runners on base in the game.
Gabe Klobosits (L, 1-2) pitched 2.2 innings in relief with only the final run allowed.
Carson Shaddy and Rick Nomura had two hits for the Razorbacks.
