NCAA Outdoor Championships Day 3 Results

Eugene, Ore. - Senior Shawn Johnson claimed fifth in the men's triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at historic Haward Field Friday. Johnson earned his second outdoor All-America honors and became Auburn's highest finisher in the event since Leevan Sands claimed gold in 2004.

In 12th place prior to his third and final prelimnary round jump, Johnson leaped himself into the finals, moving up to sixth place with a jump of 16.00m/52-6. On his fourth jump, Johnson posted his best mark of the day gaining one spot with a leap of 16.28m/53-5.

The Auburn men finished tied for 57th in the team standings.

The women will conclude action Saturday with Marshay Ryan in the triple jump and Rachel Dincoff in the discus.
