AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Fourteen Auburn track and field athletes were named All-Americans by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their accomplishments at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Senior Shawn Johnson and junior Marshay Ryan were named First Team All-Americans, both in the triple jump. Johnson earned a fifth place finish with a jump of 16.28m/53-5, while Ryan finished eighth.
Student-athletes earned First-Team USTFCCCA All-America honors by virtue of finishing among the top-8 in their events, including as a member of a relay, at this past weekend's NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon at Historic Hayward Field.
Second-Team All-America honors go to those who finish ninth through 16th and Honorable Mention is 17th through 24th.
Joshua Burks, Randall Ceneus, Kahlil Henderson and Welington Zaza teamed up to earn Second Team All-American honors with a 13th place finish in the 4X100m Relay. Zaza also earned Second Team honors in the 110m hurdles, running a 13.75 and finishing 11th. A junior from Hollywood, Fla., Henderson picked up second team honors in the 200m, crossing in 20.74 for a 13th place finish.
On the women's side, Rachel Dincoff and Valentina Muzaric both added Second Team Honors. Dincoff earned an 11th place finish in discus with a throw of 53.81m/176-6, while Muzaric finished 10th in the shot put for her third All-American honor in the event.
Jenae Ambrose, Michelle Atherley, Sashel Brown and Jeanine Williams were named USTFCCCA Honorable Mention All-Americans with their 20th place finish in the 4X400m relay. Dincoff (shot put) and Alyssa Kopp also picked up Honorable Mention honors.
