Four earn All-America honors during Day 1 of NCAA Championships

NCAA Outdoor Championship Day 1 Results

Eugene, Ore. - Four Auburn athletes earned second-team All-America honors during the first day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at historic Hayward Field Wednesday. Auburn junior Welington Zaza, appearing in his first NCAA meet, led the way for the Tigers finishing 11th in the men's 110m hurdles.

Junior Kahlil Henderson was 13th in the 200m crossing in 20.74.

Zaza and Henderson ran the first and second legs of the 4x100m relay joining Joshua Burks and Randall Ceneus to finish post a time of 39.48 en route to a 13th-place finish.

All four earned second-team national honors with Zaza and Henderson earning a pair of honors.

The Auburn women will get underway Thursday with the 4x100m relay at 4:32 p.m. PT/6:32 p.m. CT. Senior Alyssa Kopp will compete in the javelin and All-American's Rachel Dincoff and Valentina Muzaric will enter the shot put circle.
