AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn will kick off fall football practice Aug. 3 as it heads to its season opener against Clemson exactly one month later.
Players will officially report Aug. 2, though the players have been on campus working out this summer.
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn is taking an upbeat attitude into the presason work.
"They've had a very good offseason, very good spring," he said at SEC Media Days last week. "Our team unity is very strong, and our leadership is very strong. They are really stepping up and being accountable to each other and not just the coaches. That's very critical.
"I'm very excited about our staff, offensive staff. All of them have played for me in this offense or coached for me in the extended period of time. Our defense, Kevin Steele has done a great job with our staff. He's doing a great job gelling our staff together. Our philosophies are exactly the same. I think that's very important."
