AUBURN, Ala. -- With over a week of practices in the books, Auburn is set to pit its talents against in-state foe Alabama in an exhibition contest on Thursday night. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at the Auburn Soccer Complex.

The Tigers have taken the last four matchups against the Crimson Tide, including three overtime thrillers, since 2012. Though this contest will not officially count in the record books, Auburn is ready to play against an opponent wearing something other than the burnt orange and navy blue kits.

"I'm pumped to finally play against an opponent other than ourselves and to see all the hard work we put into preseason come together," said senior midfielder Brooke Ramsier. "We've been waiting for this day for a while and I think we're all ready to get going and play."

Auburn comes in with high expectations after its most successful season in program history with an appearance in the Sweet 16 and coming in ranked at No. 12 in the NSCAA's annual preseason poll. The Tigers have met those challenges head-on thus far into the preseason schedule.

"I think this has been the best preseason I've been a part of," stated senior defender Kiana Clarke. "It was really competitive from day one and I think it's a tribute to everyone's fitness as well. We were able to focus on the soccer and I'm so excited to take on the season."

After Auburn's duel with Alabama, the Tigers close out the preseason with its final exhibition of the year at Mercer on Saturday at 6 p.m.
