MACON, Ga. - The final tune-up for the Auburn women's soccer team came to a close after 57 minutes were played at Mercer on Saturday night. At the time of suspension, the Tigers held a 2-0 lead.
Casie Ramsier netted the opening goal in the 18th minute on a header from a cross by Taylor Troutman to give Auburn the lead.
That margin would stay the same all the way through the first half. At the end of the first 45 minutes, the Tigers outshot the Bears, 7-2.
Just nine minutes into the second half, Bri Folds connected on a cross from Britne Holderby and smashed a rocket into the near-post corner to double the lead at 2-0.
Following the goal, weather caused the match to be suspended and was later called off.
Auburn opens the 2016 regular season slate on Friday when it plays host to No. 14 Clemson at the Auburn Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcasted on SEC Network+.
