Auburn vs. Cal State Fullerton |
AUBURN, Ala. -- The No. 24 Auburn soccer team will look to its winning ways when it plays host to Cal State Fullerton on Friday night. The non-conference clash is set to kickoff at 7 p.m. at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
The Tigers (1-1-0) ride into the matchup having taken its last result at South Alabama by way of a 1-0 win in overtime. Courtney Schell netted the game-winner when a free kick by Brooke Ramsier was redirected by Casie Ramsier to find the head of Schell, who buried it into the top corner. It was the Tigers' sixth-straight win when facing overtime in the last two seasons.
Auburn was one of only four ranked teams to have played two opponents in the polls to open the season, joining Penn State, Santa Clara and UCF.
The Tigers have only face the Titans (1-0-0) twice in program history, splitting the results at the opponent's home turf. In the lone matchup in Auburn, the Tigers dropped a 2-1 decision on overtime in 2005.
Following its duel with the west coast foe, Auburn will hit the road for an in-state battle at Samford. The non-conference bout in Birmingham, Ala. kicks off at 6 p.m.
