Three Auburn swimmers named Preseason All-America

Michael Duderstadt, Peter Holoda and Hugo Morris were each tabbed CollegeSwimming.com 2016-17 Division I Pre-Season All-America selections, it was announced on Monday.

Duderstadt is the defending SEC Champion in both breaststroke distances. At last year's conference meet he won the 100 breaststroke in 51.94 seconds and the 200 in 1:53.50, becoming the first Auburn swimmer to sweep those events since 2004. His 200 time was the third-fastest in school history. He then went to the NCAA meet and took 10th in the 100 (52.27).

Holoda had a pair of top-three finishes at the SEC Championships, finishing second in the 50 free in 19.17 and third in the 100 free in 42.42. He also anchored the SEC Champion 400 freestyle relay and the runner-up 200 and 400 medley relays and led off the second-place 200 free relay. At the NCAA meet he finished 13th in the 50 free.

Morris is the defending SEC Champion in the 200 butterfly, touching in 1:40.59. He also had a runner-up finish in the 200 free (1:33.65) and a fifth-place finish in the 500 free (4:18.47) at the SEC meet. At the NCAA Championships he finished eighth in the 200 fly (1:42.06) and 13th in the 200 free (1:33.71).
