AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn's do-it-all place-kicker Daniel Carlson is your Southeastern Conference player of the week, and why not after he kicked field goals, extra points and scored a touchdown in the Tigers' 51-14 win over Arkansas State on Saturday?
Carlson scored on a fake field goal, taking a flip from holder Tyler Stovall and motoring 20 yards for a touchdown. He kicked field goals of 42, 37 and 18 yards for good measure. His 21 points set a school record for a kicker.
Kicking Saturday night was one thing. Running with the football was another.
"I've never carried the ball in my life," Carlson said. "Besides punting, that's the only time I've ever touched it with my hands."

Carlson shared the weekly special teams award with LSU returner Tre'Davious White.
Coach Gus Malzahn said his field goal team was ready to go.
"Daniel's an athlete, there is no doubt, and they were glad it was up this week. They were real excited," he said.
It was the first time Auburn has scored on a fake field goal since 2000 when Damon Duval threw a touchdown pass to Lorenzo Diamond.
Carlson, on the watch list for the Lou Groza Award as the nation's top kicker, has made 22 of his last 23 field goal attempts. He was a finalist for the Lou Groza Award last season.

The SEC's other award winners were Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen, for offense; Tennessee defensive back Micah Abernathy, for defense; Missouri receiver Johnathon Johnson, as the top freshman; Arkansas' Dan Skipper as the top offensive lineman; and Mississippi State defensive end A.J. Jefferson as the top defensive lineman.
