AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn's women's golf team will look to build on a strong showing in its first event as the Tigers travel to Franklin, Tenn., for the Mason Rudolph Championship.

The 54-hole event, hosted by Vanderbilt, will be played Friday-Sunday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club - North Course, and will be set up at par 72, 6,292 yards. Auburn is appearing in the event for the 10th time and had its best showing in the 2009 event, placing third.

Auburn will send out the same starting five from last week's Fall Kickoff, but in a slightly different order. Freshman Elena Hualde will play in the No. 1 spot, followed by junior Michaela Owen, junior Kelli Murphy, freshman Kayley Marschke and sophomore Mai Dechathipat.

Hualde made Auburn history at the Fall Kickoff, becoming the first freshman to earn a tournament victory in her first collegiate event at Auburn. Her 36-hole total of 141 (-3) and second-round score of 68 (-4) were the best by an Auburn player since the fall of 2014. As a team, the Tigers finished in second place, also their best team showing since the 2014-15 season.

The Tigers finished in eighth place at last year's Mason Rudolph with their best team score of the season. Then-senior Alex Harrell led the Tigers with scores of 69-72-76=217 (+1) - Auburn's best individual score of the season - and a tie for 20th place. Murphy, Owen and Dechathipat also played in the event.

Joining the Tigers and host Commodores for the event will be Alabama, Baylor, Chattanooga, Houston, Michigan State, Middle Tennessee, Northwestern, SMU, Troy, Tulane, UCF, Virginia and Yale.
