Sept. 26, 2016 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Kristen Dodson was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Dodson had one of the best weeks an Auburn player has had in a long time on The Plains. The junior netted four goals, including two game-winners, and tallied two assists in road victories at No. 12 Florida and Georgia last week.
Dodson was involved in six of the team's seven goals during the week and more than doubled her season point total from nine to a team-best 19.
The forward became the first player since Katy Frierson in 2008 to score twice and have two assists in a single game during Auburn's 4-2 come-from-behind victory at Georgia on Sunday.
Dodson's two-goal performance at Florida secured the program's first ever win in Gainesville and sent the Gators to their worst home SEC loss in program history, 3-0.
In total, the Aurora, Ill. native boasted nine shots, including six on target, and played 138 minutes to lead the attack.
Dodson becomes the first player to be named the conference's top offensive performer since Casie Ramsier received recognition on Sept. 28, 2015.
Dodson and the Tigers resume action on Friday night when they play host to Missouri at the Auburn Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.
