COLLEGE STATION, Texas ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Despite holding a 25-9 advantage in shots, Auburn fell 2-1 at the hands of Texas A&M on Sunday night. The Tigers (12-5-0, 8-2-0 SEC) snapped a program-best seven-match winning streak.

"I thought our team battled and played hard," said head coach Karen Hoppa. "We clearly had more of the ball and more chances, but we just didn't execute in the final third. We made a couple defensive mistakes to give [the Aggies] set pieces, but at the end of the day we've got to execute better in the final third and we'll work on that heading into Thursday's game."

Brooke Ramsier netted the goal for Auburn on a free kick from 20 yards out in the second half. She found the back of the net for the fourth time this season and the third time in the last four matches.

Of Auburn's season-high 25 shots, Bri Folds led the way with a career-best seven attempts. Casie Ramsier and Brooke Ramsier each tallied five and four respectively, while Gianna Montini and Courtney Schell each contributed three.

Sarah Le Beau made two saves and went the distance between the posts.

The Tigers cranked up the pressure from the opening whistle and nearly went ahead twice in the opening 25 minutes. Kristen Dodson found Casie Ramsier in the 15th minute at the top of the box, but the shot from the senior was saved by the goalie at full extension.

In the 25th minute, Taylor Troutman sent a ball into a dangerous area that Casie Ramsier latched on to, however the shot went just past the far post.

The match was scoreless heading into the half, even though Auburn maintained a 12-5 margin in shots.

Texas A&M (9-7-1, 4-5-1) broke the deadlock in the 54th minute on a header that flicked over the defense from six yards away.

Less than a minute later, Brooke Ramsier drilled a free kick into the side-netting from 20 yards out and knotted the match back up at 1-1.

The Aggies converted a penalty kick in the 84th minute to regain the lead. The score line remained unchanged in the final six minutes as Auburn fell for the first time on the road all season.

The Tigers return to the pitch on Thursday night when they play host to Tennessee for Senior Night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
