ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Auburn junior Will Long tied for fourth at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate finishing 6-under 68-74-68-210 at the par 72, 7,017-yard Lakeside Course at the Golf Club of Georgia on Sunday. No. 3 Auburn finished 10th at 4-over 293-290-285-868, as 10 of the 17 teams are ranked in the top-25.
Long, a Gastonia, N.C., native, tallied eight birdies as part of his 4-under 68 final round, sinking four consecutive on Nos. 12-15 on the back and Nos. 1, 4, 7 and 9 on the front. He tied with Chandler Phillips of Texas A&M, Gavin Hall of Texas, Brandon Wu of Stanford and Chandler Eaton of Duke.
Long, the No. 9 individual in the country, finished in the top-9 in all four events this fall, including three top-5 finishes.
Senior Ryan Benton carded a 1-over 73 final round with four birdies to t-39th at 4-over 75-72-73-220, while the trio of All-SEC senior Matt Gilchrest (75-74-72-221), freshman Jovan Rebula (75-74-72-221) and All-American junior Ben Schlottman (75-70-76-221) t-43rd at 5-over.
No. 7 Virginia (289-287-280-856) and Texas (291-288-277-856) were co-champions followed by No. 19 Southern California (279-857), No. 13 Stanford (278-857), No. 21 Texas A&M (282-858), No. 8 Oklahoma (285-859), Duke (282-860), No. 2 Oklahoma State (281-861) No. 9 Wake Forest (285-863) and No. 3 Auburn.
LSU finished 11th at 280-871 followed by host Georgia Tech (294-877), No. 16 Clemson (286-879), UCLA (293-889), TCU (300-905), East Tennessee State (309-914) and Villanova (306-929).
Jimmy Stranger of Virginia (67-68-72-207) and Max McGreevy of Oklahoma (68-69-70-207) were co-medalists at 9-under.
The Tigers have concluded the fall portion of the 2016-17 schedule and will return to action Feb. 2-4 at the Amer Ari Invitational at the King's Course in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
