Oct. 27, 2016 AUBURN, Ala. - Seniors Casie Ramsier and Samantha Solaru were selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Thursday.
Ramsier and Solaru were two of the recipients on the District 4 ballot, made up of universities in the southeast region of the country.
A graduate of the Harbert College of Business in just three years, Ramsier has maintained a 3.92 GPA and is on pace to receive a master's degree in the spring. The Dallas, Texas native was a 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-American and was the SEC Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Ramsier is tied for third in program history in career goals (31), third in game-winning goals (10) and tied for fifth in points (78) heading into the final week of regular season play.
A soon-to-be graduate of the College of Science and Mathematics, Solaru boasts a 3.85 GPA. The native of Irvine, Calif. has been listed on the SEC Academic Honor Roll in multiple seasons and has already applied to and been accepted into medical school.
Solaru has paced a back line that has 34 shutouts since 2013 and has held opponents to one goal or fewer in 51 matches played since she stepped foot on campus.
Because Ramsier and Solaru were voted Academic All-District, they will be placed on a national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, which will be chosen in the coming weeks.
