Auburn Soccer Receives Team Academic Award

Oct. 6, 2016 KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Auburn soccer program earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2015-16 academic year. The Tigers have received the award for the 12th consecutive season under head coach Karen Hoppa.

To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players on the roster.

Auburn recorded a mark of 3.40 during the academic year and was near the top of the 578 programs to receive the award.

The Tigers have 16 players who received academic distinction last season on the current roster, including NSCAA and CoSIDA Academic All-American Casie Ramsier.

Celebrating its 75th Anniversary in 2016, the NSCAA was founded in 1941 and is based in Kansas City, Mo. It is a non-profit organization with the mission of advocating for, educating and serving soccer coaches to encourage excellence and elevate the game.
