Auburn No. 9 in first College Football Playoff standings

AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn's winning streak and a tough schedule have put the Tigers in the Top 10 in the first College Football Playoff standings released Tuesday.

The Tigers came in at No. 9. That's better than the Tigers' rankings in the AP poll, where they're 11th; and the coaches' poll, where they're 12th.

The Tigers are 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the SEC heading to Saturday's 11 a.m. game against Vanderbilt.

Auburn has earned its Top 10 ranking. The Tigers have played the No. 2 team in Clemson, the No. 4 team in Texas A&M and the No. 13 team in LSU. Auburn has No. 1 Alabama on No. 26.
