Auburn heads to Tallahassee for NCAA Regional

AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The Auburn cross country team will head to Tallahassee, Fla., for the NCAA South Regional on Friday at Apalachee Regional Park. The women's 6k is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. CT, while the men's 10k is slated for an 8:30 start.

Last time out, at the SEC Championships on Oct. 28 in Fayetteville, Ark., senior Veronica Eder finished fourth for the Tigers, with a time of 16:53.50. Eder has finished in the top-five of every race this season.

Last season, Eder finished seventh at the NCAA South Regional with a time of 20:27.50 in the women's 6k, earning All-Region honors.

Eder will be joined by juniors Kevin Wyss and Wesley Pectol. Wyss has been Auburn's top runner on the men's side this season, posting five top-25 finishes in six races this season. Wyss finished 34th at the SEC Championships with a time of 25:22.20 in the men's 8k. Pectol finished 35th at the SEC Championships with a time of 25:23.60. Wyss and Pectol finished 35th and 47th, respectively at the 2015 NCAA South Regional.

Auburn will face off against 36 women's and 31 men's teams, including SEC opponents Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Florida and Georgia. Live results can be found at http://auburntige.rs/2emOgHU.
