Nov. 2, 2016 OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Casie Ramsier has been chosen as a finalist for the 2016 Senior CLASS Award, Premier Sports Management announced on Wednesday. Ramsier is one of just 10 women in the country in contention for the prestigious award.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

Ramsier becomes the second player in program history to be selected as a finalist for the award as Katy Frierson was up for the honor in 2011.

The Dallas, Texas native is currently tied for first in program history in game-winning goals (11), third in career goals (32) and fifth in points (79) entering postseason play. Ramsier was recently tabbed as the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and All-SEC First Team.

Fans are encouraged to vote on the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award website through Nov. 21. Fan votes will be combined with media and Division I head coaches' votes to determine the winner.

The Senior CLASS Award winners will be announced during the 2016 NCAA Men's and Women's College Cup championships in December.
