AUBURN, Ala. -- The Auburn women's basketball team returns home for the first time since the season opener as the Tigers welcome the Indiana Hoosiers to Auburn Arena at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Tigers (5-1) are coming off a 2-1 week at the Savannah Invitational that saw Auburn pick up wins over Ball State and Marist and drop a hard-fought contest to 19th-ranked West Virginia in the championship game Thanksgiving night.

Auburn's defense has been its strength so far, ranking in the top 10 in the nation in turnovers forced (2nd - 29.0/game), scoring defense (6th - 47.8 ppg) and steals (7th - 15.5/game). The Tigers have held all six opponents below their season scoring average, and five of the six have been at least 20 points below their average.

Senior Katie Frerking looks to keep her hot streak going as she has posted double-doubles in three of the last four games. She had 10 points and 13 rebounds in last Sunday's win at ECU, 13 points and 10 rebounds in Tuesday's win over Ball State, and 18 points and 10 rebounds in the tough loss to West Virginia. Frerking is second on the team in scoring (12.7 ppg) and leads the Tigers in rebounds (9.2/game).

Indiana (4-1) played just once last week, defeating UMass Lowell at home. The Hoosiers are 1-1 on the road, earning a close win at UT-Chattanooga before falling at Western Kentucky last week. Indiana was 21-12 last season, finishing fourth in the Big Ten and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in its first appearance since 2002.

Sunday's game is the first meeting between Auburn and Indiana in women's basketball.

Andy Burcham will have the radio broadcast on WTGZ 93.9 FM beginning at 12:45 p.m. CT. Fans can also listen live via TuneIn Radio or the above link to AuburnTigers.com. SEC Network has the broadcast with Brenda VanLengen and Carol Ross calling the action; fans can also watch online via WatchESPN.com or the ESPN app on mobile devices.
