Brooke Ramsier, a senior midfielder, has permanently made her mark in the program record books. The All-SEC Second Team selection has 24 career assists, ranking fifth all-time at Auburn. Ramsier makes up half of the nation's highest-scoring sister duo as she and Casie Ramsier have 136 career points, heading into the NCAA Tournament next week. The Dallas, Texas native caught up with AuburnTigers.com.
Why did you choose Auburn?
I just fell in love with the campus, the team, the coaches, the family atmosphere and Toomer's lemonade. I also love Aubie.
How has your role changed since you first stepped foot on campus?
I think I've grown into a leadership role. Being a senior now, I'm expected to talk on the field and help direct. As a freshman, I was just kind of there scared and didn't want to say anything. My role has been taking charge and help lead the team.
What's been your favorite moment so far?
I'd say making it to the NCAA Sweet 16 last year. It was a lot of fun and we made history. The win over Texas Tech was a close game, so that made it even more exciting.
What's the best prank you've pulled on a teammate?
My freshman year, we tried to pull pranks on Alyse Scott and Kala Faulkner. We put clear duct tape in front of their doors, so when they opened the door, they'd walk right into it. However, they kind of heard us putting the duct tape on the door so it didn't work out. Then, we put Vaseline on the doorknobs, so every time you put your hand on the doorknob, you had a huge wad of Vaseline on your hand.
What advice would you give yourself as a freshman now?
Enjoy every moment and have fun with it. Remember that it is just a game and don't get caught up in it. Just have fun, live every moment and work hard every day.
Who's your favorite celebrity?
My sister Casie Ramsier, because who doesn't love CR24?
