AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The Auburn gymnastics team will hold its annual Preview Meet Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. CT in Auburn Arena. Admission to the meet is free.
"We always view this meet as our official kickoff to the season," head coach Jeff Graba said. "I know the team is excited to just get out in public and show off all their hard work. We really want to encourage everyone to arrive early because we are really looking forward to getting this team out in front of our fans. They are very fun to watch."
The meet will give fans the opportunity to see the Tigers for the first time before the competition season begins in January. Auburn returns a handful of student-athletes from last year's lineups with four in the senior class ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" MJ Rott, Kullen Hlawek, Kelsey Kopec, and Lucia Scaglione. Also returning are juniors Abby Milliet, Sarah Garcia, and Cara Stricklin as well as sophomores Taylor Krippner, Emma Engler, Samantha Cerio, and A'Miracal Phillips. Competing for the first time in Auburn Arena will be redshirt freshman Emma Slappey and freshmen Katie Becker, Gracie Day, and Kendal Moss.
Gymnastics fans are encouraged to arrive early for warm ups as the doors will be open at 12:30 p.m. CT. Even though the team will be performing most of their individual floor routines during the actual meet, a majority of the big passes will be done during warm ups.
A handful of activities will be available for fans during the meet. There will be a photo booth set up with Aubie Clause as well as AU Gymnastics Santa hats for the first 500 attendees. A balloon artist will be in attendance, while hot chocolate and cookies will be given out while supplies last. Following the meet, the Tigers will hold an autograph session.
Season ticket holders can pick up their t-shirt and lapel pin, while their actual ticket packets will also be available at the Ticket Office window. Season tickets for the upcoming season are still available as well as single meet tickets and fans can contact the Auburn Ticket Office at 855-282-2010 or go online at www.AUBTIX.com for more information.
