Dec. 15, 2016 KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Auburn soccer standouts Kiana Clarke and Casie Ramsier were honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as they were tabbed Scholar All-Americans, the organization announced Thursday.
The senior duo earned recognition on the Scholar All-South Region First Team, while Brooke Ramsier was named a Scholar All-South Region Second Team honoree.
In order to be eligible for the awards, selected student-athletes must have maintained a 3.30 GPA and show exemplary play on the pitch.
Clarke and Casie Ramsier are the eighth and ninth Tigers to garner Scholar All-America recognition since 2010. After collecting honors in both 2015 and 2016, Casie Ramsier becomes the fourth player in program history to be a two-time recipient of the award, joining Katy Frierson (2010-11), Julie King (2010-11) and Kala Faulkner (2014-15).
Clarke, a graduate of Auburn entering the fall semester, held a 3.37 GPA in Accountancy. She is on pace to receive a master's degree and has already accepted a job with KPMG, an accounting firm in Florida.
The Davie, Fla. native was a mainstay along the back line for the Tigers throughout her career, and especially during the 2016 campaign. Clarke started every match and played in all but nine minutes of action. The senior was instrumental in guiding the defense to seven shutouts en route to the program's first ever trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
Casie Ramsier, the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, boasts a 3.92 grade point average while working towards a master's degree in Accountancy and already has a pair of bachelor's degrees in both Accounting and Finance.
The Dallas, Texas native recently set career-highs in both points (31) and assists (seven), while matching her previous season-best of 12 goals in both 2015 and 2016. Casie Ramsier was one of only six midfielders in the country to eclipse 30 points and have 12 or more goals during the 2016 season.
Brooke Ramsier recently capped her playing career with a 3.43 GPA while working towards a degree in Integrative Biology.
Hailing from Dallas, Texas, the senior was part of the nation's highest scoring set of sisters. Brooke Ramsier saved her best for last as she set career-bests in points (27), assists (12) and goals (eight) in 2016.
Brooke Ramsier ended her last campaign registering at least one point in 11 of the final 13 matches of the season, including an NCAA program record five against South Alabama to open the postseason tournament.
