AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn men's golf sophomore Graysen Huff tied for third at the South Beach International Amateur, carding a 4-under 67 on Thursday at the Miami Beach Golf Club in Miami Beach, Fla., to finish at 11-under 65-67-73-67-272.
Huff tied with Florida State signee John Pak (66-69-72-65-272) and finished two strokes behind winner Danny Walker of Virginia (70-66-67-67-270).
Huff, a native of Eagle, Idaho, began with a 5-under 65 in the opening round on Monday at the par 70, Normandy Shores Golf Club with five birdies and an eagle on the par 4 sixth. He played the final three rounds at the par 71, Miami Beach Golf Club finishing at 4-under 67 in both the second and final rounds.
Huff, who won medalist honors for the first time in his career at the 2016 ASU Fall Beach Classic, carded six birdies in the second round and finished with two eagles on Nos. 10 and 16 in addition to two birdies in the final round. In total, he finished with three eagles and 15 birdies over four days of play.
All-American junior Ben Schlottman t-45th at even par-70-72-72-69-283. The Advance, N.C., native finished with an eagle and 11 birdies in the tournament. Sophomore Jacob Solomon and signee Andrew Kozan missed the cut.
The South Beach International Amateur is the world's 12th ranked amateur golf tournament consisting of 210 of the world's best amateur golfers.
