AUBURN, ALA. -- Auburn men's tennis has signed Alexander Rushin of Rancho Sante Fe, California, to join the Tigers, Auburn head coach Bobby Reynolds has announced.

Rushin, originally from El Salvador, comes to Auburn ranked #12 by Universal Tennis.

"I am really excited to welcome Alex to the Auburn family. He possess all the characteristics to succeed here at Auburn and I'm excited to help him achieve his goals on and off the tennis court," said Coach Reynolds.

Rushin has battled a number of wrist and back injuries over the past three years. Those injuries limited his play in tournaments.

Before the injuries, Rushin was considered one of the top players for his age in the Southern California region. He won multiple tournaments including the UTSA Boys National Spring Championships in 2010 and the Vegas Muterspaw Nationals in 2010, where he was the singles and doubles champion.
