COLUMBIA, S.C. - Freshmen Anfernee McLemore scored a career-high 18 points and Austin Wiley notched his first double-double with 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds as Auburn lost at No. 23 South Carolina 98-69 in Colonial Life Arena on Tuesday. The Gamecocks made 15-of-26 3-pointers.

South Carolina scored the first nine points of the game, but Auburn went on an 8-2 run to trail 11-8 in the early going. The Tigers scored seven straight points to trail 21-19, but the Gamecocks' 10-0 run pushed it to 31-19 with 5:04 left with three-straight 3s.

Auburn made one field goal in the final 10:16 and South Carolina went 10-of-16 (.625) from 3-point range to lead 48-27 at halftime.

The Gamecocks led by as much as 96-58 with 2:36 remaining.

Mustapha Heron extended Auburn's freshman record as he scored 10 points to reach double figures in his first 20 games.

Auburn fell to 13-7, 3-5 while South Carolina improved to 16-4, 6-1 after defeating the Tigers for only the second time in eight games in Colonial Life Arena.

South Carolina shot 49 percent from the floor while Auburn went 36 percent from the field and 3-of-21 from behind the arc.

Auburn plays at TCU in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Saturday at 5 pm CT on ESPNU.
