Alison Maillard and Pete Turnham each earned fifth-place finishes during Wednesday's competition at the Tennessee Diving Invitational.
Maillard was one of three Auburn divers to reach the women's 1-meter finals along with Maddie Cox and Claire Schuermann. Maillard scored a 271.35 in the finals after a 279.60 in the prelims. Cox picked up a ninth-place finish with a 249.60 after posting a 274.35 during prelims. Schuermann was 12th with a 241.25 finals after a 258.10 got her to the finals.
"Alison and Maddie continued to show improvement and consistency and I was happy to see Claire get into the finals as well," head coach Jeff Shaffer said. "The one area we need to focus on is once we get into finals to raise the bar a little bit and improve our performance."
Turnham improved from a 339.65 in prelims to a 365.30 in finals to earn his fifth-place finish on the 3-meter.
"Pete was real consistent in prelims and then stepped up and improved his score in finals with a real solid list," Shaffer said.
