AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Four Auburn women's golfers will compete in the Samford Spring Shootout, a one-day event that takes place Monday in Birmingham.
Senior Clara Baena, sophomores Mai Dechathipat and Melanie Talbott, and freshman Kayley Marschke will compete as individuals in the 36-hole event at Greystone Golf & Country Club (Founders Course), which will be set up at par 72, 5,893 yards.
Talbott will be playing in her second event of the season after missing the fall season while recovering from injury. She played in last week's UCF Challenge for her first event of the year, shooting a collegiate-best 220 (+4) to tie for 45th. Baena has played in four of six team events so far this year, twice as an individual. She closed strong at UCF, shooting a final-round 71 to move up to a tie for 69th.
Marschke played in all five fall events, earning a pair of top-20 finishes including a tie for 14th at the Pinehurst Challenge. And Dechathipat played in four of five fall tournaments and competed as an individual at UCF last week. Her best finish in the fall was a tie for 20th at the Fall Kickoff.
