No. 7 Auburn Men's Golf in 12th after Amer Ari Invitational opening round

WAIKOLOA, Hi. - No. 7 Auburn Men's Golf is 12th after the Amer Ari Invitational opening round, carding a 2-over 290 at the Kings' Crossings Course at the Waikoloa Beach Resort in Waikoloa, Hawaii, on Thursday.

No. 15 Texas Tech leads at 18-under 270 followed by No. 6 Southern California (273).

All-SEC senior Matt Gilchrest is t-22nd at 2-under 70 to lead the Tigers. The Southlake, Texas, native carded five birdies in the round on Nos. 2, 4, 14, 17 and 18. Fellow senior Will Long, the No. 4 rated player in the nation, is a stroke back at 1-under 71 and is t-30th. The Gastonia, N.C., native birdied Nos. 1, 4, 5 and 18.

Sophomore Jacob Solomon is t-71st at 2-over 74, senior Ryan Benton is t-85th at 3-over 75 and Ben Schlottman is t-107th with a 78.

Freshman Jovan Rebula, playing as an individual, is tied for 12th at 3-under 69. The George, South Africa, native carded five birdies on Nos. 1, 4, 13, 17 and 18. Sophomore Trace Crowe, as playing as an individual is t-58th at 1-over 73.

No. 8 Stanford is in third at 10-under 278 followed by No. 24 Colorado (281), TCU (281), No. 12 Texas (284), UCLA (285), No. 17 Oregon (285), No. 5 Oklahoma State (286) and Arizona State (286).

Georgia Tech is 11th at 288 followed by Auburn, Oregon State (292), Chico State (292), San Jose State (292), Hawaii (294), UC Davis (295), Osaka Gakuin University (298) Pacific (298), St. Mary's (CA) (300) and host Hawaii-Hilo (304).

Arizona State's Jared duToit and Southern California's Kyle Suppa share the individual lead at 8-under 64.
