WAIKOLOA, Hi. - No. 7 Auburn Men's Golf is t-15th after the Amer Ari Invitational second round, carding a 4-over 292 at the Kings' Crossings Course at the Waikoloa Beach Resort in Waikoloa, Hawaii, on Friday.
The Tigers (290-292-582) are tied with UC Davis (295-287-582).
No. 6 Southern California leads at 35-under 273-268-541 with No. 15 Texas Tech a stroke back at 270-272-542.
Sophomore Trace Crowe, playing as an individual, used a career-low 5-under 67 to climb 32 spots and tie for 26th at 4-under 73-67-140. The Bluffton, S.C., native tallied seven birdies on Friday on Nos. 1, 4, 5 and 7 on the front nine and 13, 14 and 18 on the back.
All-SEC senior Matt Gilchrest is a stroke back from Crowe at 3-under 70-71-141 while fellow senior Will Long carded a 1-over 73 to t-51st at even-par 71-73-144. Senior Ryan Benton is t-79th at 75-73-148, sophomore Jacob Solomon is t-90th at 75-75-149 and junior Ben Schlottman is t-113th at 78-77-155.
Freshman Jovan Rebula, also competing as an individual, is tied with Long for 51st at 69-75-144.
No. 8 Stanford (278-282-560) is tied for third with No. 24 Colorado (281-279-560) followed by No. 17 Oregon (285-276-561), No. 5 Oklahoma State (286-278-564), TCU (281-284-565) and Arizona State (286-279-565).
UCLA (285-281-566), Georgia Tech (288-278-566) and No. 12 Texas (284-282-566) are in a three-way tie for ninth followed by Oregon State (292-284-576), St. Mary's (CA) (300-279-579), San Jose State (292-289-581), UC Davis and Auburn.
Hawaii is 17th at 294-290-584) with Osaka Gakuin University (298-292-590), Pacific (298-295-593), Chico State (292-303-595) and Hawaii-Hilo (304-300-604) rounding out the field.
Rico Hoey of Southern California holds the individual lead at 14-under 67-63-130.
