Auburn's women's swimming and diving program begins competition at the 2017 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday with the 800 freestyle relay at 5 p.m. CT from the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.

"I think we are looking pretty good," Auburn head coach Brett Hawke said. "We are focused on ourselves. We have some great relays in position to score and individually we have some girls who can make finals and score some points for us."

Auburn had nine swimmers on the official NCAA Invite list and added a diver in Alison Maillard through NCAA Zone Diving qualifying. The nine swimmers are Haley Black, Erin Falconer, Natasha Lloyd, Julie Meynen, Ashley Neidigh, Bailey Nero, Breanna Roman, Aly Tetzloff and Zoe Thatcher.

"The NCAAs are an intense competition," Hawke said. "It's deep and everybody is fast there. You have to be on top of your game and if you're not relaxed and too tense you're going to miss out."

Auburn's women have won five national championships with the last coming in 2007.

ESPN3.com will stream the championships finals sessions live on Friday and Saturday. Wednesday's evening session, Thursday's sessions along with the morning sessions on Friday and Saturday will be streamed live on NCAA.com and indianasportscorp.org/ncaasd. Additionally, ESPNU will air a two-hour broadcast via tape delay at 7 p.m. Eastern time, Tuesday, March 28. Live results for the championships will be available on NCAA.com.
