BANDON, Ore. - No. 19 Auburn Men's Golf finished in a tie for eighth at the Bandon Dunes Championship, carding a 7-over 295 Tuesday at the Old MacDonald Course at the Bandon Dunes Resort.
The Tigers (284-299-295-878) tied with Denver (289-291-298-878) at 14-over. No. 14 Oregon claimed the title at 28-under 275-285-276-836 with No. 9 Texas Tech finishing runner-up at 7-under 283-287-287-857.
Sophomore Jacob Solomon led the Tigers finishing in a tie for 17th at 1-over 69-73-75-217. Classmate Trace Crowe t-30th at 4-over 71-76-73-220. Freshman Jovan Rebula finished a shot behind Crowe at 5-over 72-75-74-221 to t-36th.
Seniors Matt Gilchrest (72-75-79-226) and Will Long (77-76-73-226) t-56th at 10-over while classmate Ryan Benton, playing as an individual, t-51st at 9-over 77-77-71-225. All-America junior Ben Schlottman, also playing as an individual, t-77th at 79-77-76-232.
Oregon State finished third at 6-under 286-288-284-858 followed by No. 21 Colorado (285-860), No. 18 Texas A&M (294-869), Georgia State (292-872), Seattle University (285-876), Denver, Auburn and Fresno State (292-880).
Washington State finished 11th at 290-881 followed by Boise State (296-893), CSU-Northridge (292-900), San Jose State (308-905), host-Gonzaga (307-907) and Utah Valley (311-912).
Texas Tech's Hannes Ronneblad won medalist honors at 10-under 65-71-70-206.
The Tigers return to action March 26-28 at the Hootie at Bulls Bay at the Bulls Bay Golf Course in Awendaw, S.C.
