AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn men's tennis team (9-6, 1-1 in the SEC) plays three matches on the road this week. The Tigers are at No. 17 Kentucky (11-6, 2-2) for a noon CT Thursday SEC match. On Saturday, Auburn visits No. 34 Vanderbilt (9-7, 1-3) at noon and Belmont (6-8) at 5 p.m. in Nashville.
"It's going to be three matches in three days, so we've got to be ready mentally and physically," Auburn coach Bobby Reynolds said. "I think the guys are looking forward to it. The match at Kentucky will be indoors, and then we go to Vanderbilt. I think the guys are fired up to play just to give Ryan (Lipman) and me a little ribbing because we played at Vanderbilt. I'm looking forward to seeing people I know there and then going out and playing a good match. The match at Belmont will be a different lineup than our SEC lineup, but we're hoping to pick up wins.
"The last two weeks the guys have played really well. The doubles have been great; we maybe need just a little more attention to detail at pressure times at key moments of momentum - taking a step back there and slowing down your play."
Auburn's tentative lineup for this weekend's conference matches is: Singles: Max Hinnisdaels, Carles Sarrio, Conner Huertas del Pino, Edward Nguyen, Olle Thestrup, Brandon Laubser; Doubles: Hinnisdaels/Huertas del Pino, Nguyen/Laubser, Dante Saleh/Thestrup.
In the latest Oracle/ITA rankings, Hinnisdaels and Huertas del Pino are No. 9 nationally in doubles, an improvement of eight spots from the previous ratings. Hinnisdaels is ranked No. 64 nationally in singles.
