No. 18 Auburn Caps SEC Schedule in Loss to No. 15 Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The No. 18 Auburn gymnastics team scored a 195.350 Friday night in the Hearnes Center, falling to No. 15 Missouri with a 197.200.

"We settled down in the middle after a tough start and that was good to see," head coach Jeff Graba said. "This team fights for every score and are persevering through. We have one more meet in the regular season and we need to be ready next week."

Auburn (0-10, 0-7) scored a season best on floor in the third rotation, taking away a 49.250. Senior Kullen Hlawek had a solid routine for the Tigers, scoring a season-best 9.9. Classmate Lucia Scaglione also put together a great routine and tied a career high with a 9.875. Redshirt Emma Slappey chipped in another 9.875, while senior MJ Rott anchored the event with a 9.8. Freshman Katie Becker added a 9.8 in the leadoff spot.

The Tigers put up solid scores on vault in the second rotation with sophomore Taylor Krippner and Rott leading the charge. Krippner tied a career high with a 9.85, while Rott earned a 9.85 on her Yurchenko full. Sophomore A'Miracal Phillips and freshman Gracie Day followed with a pair of 9.8s, while Becker scored a 9.75.

Hlawek led the team off on beam and tied a career-high score with a 9.85. Sophomore Samantha Cerio and classmate Slappey added a 9.8 apiece, while Krippner anchored with a 9.775. Engler held on in her routine to score a 9.525.

The squad opened up the night on bars and was led by a pair of 9.825s from redshirt senior Kelsey Kopec and Day. Cerio and Becker each added 9.775s. The Tigers had to count a fall in the rotation.

Auburn caps the regular season with a non-conference meet vs. Pittsburgh in Auburn Arena. The Tigers and the Panthers square off at 7 p.m. CT, March 10, and the meet will serve as Auburn's Senior Night. The team will honor Kullen Hlawek, Kelsey Kopec, MJ Rott, and Lucia Scaglione prior to the meet.
