AUBURN, Ala. - No. 17 Auburn Men's Golf leads the Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner through 24-27 holes by three strokes at 9-under at the Grand National Lakes Course.
The 19-team field played through the first round and part of the second round before play was suspended due to darkness. Second round play will resume at 7:45 am tomorrow with the final round beginning at approximately 11:30 am with a shotgun start.
The tournament was initially shortened to a 2-day event after a threat of inclement weather forecasted for Tuesday.
Auburn leads Missouri and UNCW (-6) by three strokes.
Sophomore Trace Crowe leads the Tigers at 5-under thru 24 and is currently in sixth place. The Bluffton, S.C., native carded a career low-tying 5-under 67 in the first round tallying an eagle on the par-5 12th and a trio of birdies. Fellow sophomore Jacob Solomon is two strokes back and t-7th at 3-under. The Dublin, Calif., native has tallied seven birdies thru 27.
Freshman Jovan Rebula is t-12th at 2-under. He carded six birdies on Nos. 2, 4, 7, 8, 12 and 14 as part of an opening round 69.
Senior Ryan Benton is t-41st at 2-over while fellow senior Matt Gilchrest is t-58th. Senior Will Long, playing as an individual, is t-48th thru 24 while All-American junior Ben Schlottman, also playing as an individual, is t-58th. Freshman Reagan Harrell, playing as an individual in his first collegiate tournament, is in 93rd.
