AUBURN, Ala. -- Junior Roos van der Zwaan of the Auburn women's tennis team was named to the 2017 SEC Community Service Team, the league office announced Tuesday.

All league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men's and women's sports being chosen from 1999-2003.

A native of the Netherlands, van der Zwaan has participated in many different community service projects. Most notably, van der Zwaan participated in a three-day community service project with HERO Housing in which students athletes helped to revitalize the interior of a future school and also helped to renovate a daycare in the Greensboro, N.C. area over the summer.

Overall, van der Zwaan has been very active in the Auburn community, taking part in the annual Downtown Trick or Treat festival over Halloween and volunteering at Richland Elementary. She has also volunteered with the Jason Dufner Foundation, stuffing backpacks with food for children in the area that are in need.
