AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn men's tennis (13-13, 3-8 SEC) captured the doubles point, but could not hang on for the team win in a 6-1 loss at No. 22 South Carolina (19-5, 8-3 SEC) Friday afternoon at the Carolina Tennis Center.

Auburn picked up the doubles point, getting a 6-4 victory over the higher-ranked Yancy Dennis and Harrison O'Keefe (No. 22) by the Tigers' No. 28-ranked Max Hinnisdaels and Conner Huertas del Pino on court one. On court two, Edward Nguyen and Brandon Laubser clinched the point for the Tigers with a 6-4 win over Sam Swank and Alex Fennell.

South Carolina had the advantage in singles, winning the first set of five of six matches, the only Auburn winner being Dante Saleh on court six. Saleh eventually lost in a tie-break third set. Max Hinnisdaels on court one took Harrison O'Keefe to a tiebreaker in their first set, but the Gamecocks won that match.

Sunday, the Tigers go to No. 16 Florida (14-8, 7-3 SEC) for a noon CT match at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex. This road swing concludes the regular season for Auburn. The SEC tournament is April 26-30 at Tennessee.
