A total of 96 Auburn student-athletes have been named to the 2016-17 Winter Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll, it was announced on Wednesday by SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey.
The 2016-17 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll includes the sports of basketball, equestrian, gymnastics and swimming and diving. It is based on grades from the 2016 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.
Auburn's equestrian team had 32 student-athletes named to the honor roll. They include: Ashton Alexander (Pre-Business), Caroline Becker (Management), Elizabeth Benson (Business Administration Graduate), Megan Bifano (Marketing), Caitlin Boyle (Pre-Business), Betsy Brown (Animal Sciences-Pre Vet), Claire Connaghan (Graphic Design), Laura Creel (Entrepreneurship and Family Business), Lauren Diaz (Political Science), Allison Dusha (Exercise Science, Fitness Conditioning and Performance), Ashley Foster (Horticulture), Alessandra Fratessa (Marketing), Lena Hernig (Graphic Design), Victoria Hoft (Accountancy), Margaret Hurt (Journalism), Morgan Kleis (Nursing Science), Kennedy Knapic (Animal Sciences-Pre Vet), Griffin Knight (Political Science), Alexandra Ladove (Pre-Business), Hannah Loseke (Biomedical Sciences), Hannah Marco (Psychology), Kathryn McFarlin (Animal Sciences-Production Management), Morgan McQuay (Communication), Mackenzie Michaels (Animal Science-Equine), Haley Munger (Health Services Administration), Emma Paul (Animal Sciences-Pre Vet), Megan Rauh (Exercise Science), Alexa Rivard (Exercise Science), Casey Schmitz (Marketing), Jacqueline Shilen (Rehab and Disability Studies), Mary Smith (Communication) and Abigail Wagner (Accountancy).
The swimming and diving program had a total of 37 student-athletes honored, 20 on the women's team and 17 on the men's team. They include: Caitlin Atkinson (Fitness, Conditioning and Performance), Samantha Cerio (Aerospace Engineering), Lexus Demers (Exercise Science Graduate), Emma Engler (Nutrition Science), Sarah Garcia (Marketing), Kathryn Kluz (Hotel & Restaurant Management), Kelsey Kopec (Business Administration Graduate), Taylor Krippner (Nutrition-Pre Dietetics), Emma Slappey (Fitness, Conditioning and Performance) and Cara Stricklin (Exercise Science).
The women's basketball program had 10 student-athletes honored. They include: Katie Frerking (Marketing), Bria Johnson (International Business), Jazmine Jones (Communication), Jessica Jones (Communication), Tiffany Lewis (Interdisciplinary Studies), Janiah McKay (Exercise Science), Brandy Montgomery (Communication), Erica Sanders (Exercise Science), Sira Toure (Electrical Engineering-Computer) and Justice Wright (Sociology).
The men's basketball program had seven student-athletes honored. They include: Cole Blackstock (Electrical Engineering), Ronnie Johnson (Adult Education Graduate), Patrick Keim (Industrial and Systems Engineering), Tahj Shamsid-Deen (Finance), LaRon Smith (Adult Education Graduate), Cole Stockton (Health Services Administration) and Trey Tate (Finance).
