AUBURN, Ala. – Sophomore Trace Crowe earned All-SEC second-team honors while senior Matt Gilchrest was named to the SEC Men’s Golf Community Service Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
Crowe is averaging a team-best 70.96 stroke average while winning the Gary Koch Invitational at 9-under with a pair of 66s in the final two rounds. The Bluffton, S.C., native tied for fourth in the Tiger Invitational at 7-under.
He also tied for 10th in the Amer Ari Invitational at 9-under and tied for 11th in the Carpet Capital Collegiate at 6-under.
Gilchrest is a Byron Nelson Award finalist this year and is a two-time All-SEC selection with a first-time pick in 2015 and a second-team member in 2014.
The Southlake, Texas, native read to elementary school students at the Auburn Early Education Center; stuffed backpacks of food with the Jason Dufner Foundation; City of Auburn Downtown Trick or Treat signing autographs and posing for photos; SAAC representative and assisted with the planning of the AUSPY’s, Beat Bama Food Drive, Toys for Tot Drive and annual Student-Athlete Day.
Auburn returns to action at the NCAA Regional May 15-17. The NCAA Men’s Golf Selection Show is on Thursday at 11 am CT on the Golf Channel.
