AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" The Auburn track and field team concluded the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with two All-American honors on Saturday at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. On the weekend, the Tigers brought home 12 first team, seven second team and three honorable mention All-Americans on the week.
"This was a good season for us and we picked up a lot of good experience for the athletes coming back next year," Auburn head coach Ralph Spry said. "We have a good core group of kids coming back next year and we are glad they got this experience. I look forward to watching this group grow and improve for next season."
Senior Marshay Ryan finished the season with a 15th place finish in the women's triple jump after jumping a 42-0.25/13.11m on her third attempt. The Pennsylvania wraps up her collegiate career at Auburn as a six-time All-American and a two-time runner-up in the triple jump.
Veronica Eder also finished her career on a high note, bringing home her second All-American honors in two days with a 19th place finish in the women's 5,000m. The senior from Pennsylvania ran a 16:18.50 to become the first Auburn female to earn All-American honors in the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters in the same season.
The Auburn men finished the weekend fifth with 26 points, while the women didn't score any points.
