Auburn sophomore starting pitcher Casey Mize has been named a Third Team Perfect Game/Rawlings College All-American, it was announced on Wednesday.
Mize went 8-2 with a 2.04 ERA for Auburn, which finished the year 37-26 and played for the NCAA Tallahassee Regional Championship.
Mize, a right-hander, ranked third in the SEC in ERA and led the nation with a 12.1-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio, finishing with 109 strikeouts to just nine walks. His 109 strikeouts were the most by an Auburn pitcher since Brent Schoening had 151 and Chris Bootcheck had 125 during the 1999 season.
Mize, who recorded two complete games in 12 starts, was previously named a Third Team All-American by Baseball America.
