Kerryon Johnson is on the Paul Hornung Award's preseason watch list, for the award given to college football's most versatile player as voted on by the Louisville Sports Commission and award namesake Paul Hornung.
Johnson had 895 rushing yards on 182 attempts and led the team with 11 touchdowns in 2016. He added 125 yards through the air on 17 receptions and averaged 22.3 yards per kickoff return.
In 25 career games (seven starts), Johnson has accumulated 2,078 all-purpose yards with 1,103 on the ground. His career kick return average of 25.12 yards ranks seventh best in Auburn history.
Johnson recorded three 100-yard rushing performances last season and four games with 100 or more total yards. Johnson's best total yard performance in 2016 came versus No. 19 LSU, when he rushed the ball 22 times for 93 yards while adding 68 receiving yards to his total.
Johnson had three games with two rushing touchdowns: versus Arkansas State, ULM and Ole Miss.
Aside from his productive on-the-field performance, Johnson is a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and was first team CoSIDA Academic All-District.
